Dear Friends,

The response to the Indian People’s Tribunal on the impacts of nuclear power plants and nuclear mines to be held on 17th-19th September in Ratnagiri has been extremely positive. While we are still awaiting other confirmations, most of the affected groups and other mass organisations have confirmed their participation. Please see for the latest participating groups and endorsements.

If you have not already done so, please don’t hesitate to write back to us at with your endorsement. However, most importantly, there is still time to register your interest in participating in the process itself in Ratnagiri. The decision to hold this tribunal comes at a critical time when India is insistent on expanding its nuclear base while the rest of the world is moving away from nuclear energy.

In Jaitapur there has been a sustained but peaceful struggle against the plant, which has met with consistent repression and even police firings. To support the movement and to create more public opinion on the nuclear issue this national people’s tribunal is being organised. Your presence will greatly enthuse the groups who have been struggling against these plants and mines.

Thanks so much for all your support so far, and we look forward to seeing you in Ratnagiri on the 17th!
