Mumbai: Three weeks after the nine accused in the Nitin Aage murder case were acquitted by an Ahmednagar court, five members of Vidyarthi Bharthi went on a hunger strike at Azad Maidan on Monday, demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry.

Aage (17), a resident of Kharda village in Jamkhed tehsil, Ahmednagar, was allegedly murdered on April 28, 2014, by the brother of an upper caste Maratha girl he was spotted talking to and was believed to have an affair with. On November 23, the trial court acquitted the girl’s brother and the eighth co-accused.
